How a portfolio is made

Make it together

A documentary photographer works alongside the organization and the people in its programs. They co-author the portfolio, and the organization approves what is shown.

Own it

The organization owns the finished portfolio permanently. There is no license to renew and no loan to return.

Show it

We exhibit the work in galleries, festivals, public squares, and convenings where funders and policymakers meet. Photographers keep the right to publish and exhibit their images.

Connect

We bring these stories to new audiences — through exhibitions, classrooms, dialogues, and digital showcases that cross borders.

Every portfolio becomes a bridge between communities that rarely meet, replacing assumptions with understanding and misinformation with evidence.

Measure it

Each partner organization chooses the change it wants to track, and we build those measures together
